#Day5 High Camp – View Point – Low Camp

From High Camp (3550m), we were facing a dilemma whether to climb in about 4 hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m). After much consideration, the three of us decided to pass on the idea of climbing 1000m to the Mardi Himal Base Camp. We feared that such an undertaking would be too exhausting for us to complete in one day. Tony, however, chose to press on. Had we stayed an extra day at High Camp, we would have been able to reach the Based Camp.

After taking breakfast the next morning, the five of us began our ascent to the viewpoint. The Machapuchare was getting closer and closer with step we took. When we arrived at the lower viewpoint (3900m), we could admire the stunning views of the entire Annapurna range. After a brief rest, we said goodbye to Tony and started to march back to High Camp, prepared for the journey downhill.

The descending part is way easier to handle. Without many stopovers, the five of us reached Low Camp (3000m) at around 3pm. Tony and Prem joined us 4 hours later. Everyone is safe and sound!

#Day6 Low Camp – Sidhing – Pokhara

We greatly enjoyed our final descent towards Sidhing (1529m), as we knew it would be the end of our trek. Along the way, we stopped to chat with the locals and take pictures with them. They were very friendly and talkative, and we relished our brief but pleasant interactions with them. As we neared the end point of our trek, we savored every moment.

After approximately three hours, we reached the entry point of Sidhing village. We were glad to see our jeep waiting for us at the mid hill. Little did we know that the first half of the ride was very bumpy. We truly respected the driver for bringing us to the ground safely. The second half of the ride was much smoother.

We are so grateful to Raju, Deepak and Prem for taking such a great care of us during our 6-day hike. They enable us to have a truly enjoyable trip, and so we treated them to lunch at a local restaurant as a way of saying thank you before we said our goodbyes. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts and hope that our paths cross again in the future.

My overall experience in Nepal was truly unforgettable. From the breathtaking views of nature to the friendly and warm local people, I was able to experience a simple way of life that I will never forget. I am thankful for the opportunity to explore this beautiful place and for the memories that will stay with me for years to come.
